Set Your Mind on God

Matthew 16:23, “But He turned and said to Peter,’Get behind Me Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; for you are not setting your mind on God’s interests but man’s.'”
According to this scripture, every time we set our mind on man’s interests instead of God’s, the author is no other than Satan himself! Wow! Can we even fathom the scope of that statement in our daily walks? Anything, and I mean anything, that is not done or said for God is inspired by the darkness, or the world. I hear people, intelligent people, say things like, “it would be in your best interest to do this, or that.” What about all the money we store up, or, our retirement fund? (I’m getting ready to meddle so put on your seat belt) There are ministries that are doing God’s work and can’t hardly keep the place running, and meanwhile, there are people that are just storing up money and blowing a lot of it on, you guessed it, their own interests. Here’s a good one. Why do we invite certain speakers to our conferences? Do we pray and ask what the people need and have God send someone that will provide that need? In most cases the answer is definitely, no! We get speakers that will draw a crowd and help us pay for the conference. You may get upset with me, but it’s true. Do we follow the Holy Spirit’s lead and do what He tells us in our church services, or stick to the agenda. Think about it. If we just follow an agenda rather than what God wants Satan is actually running the service. Whops! I could go on but I think I’ve done enough damage for one day, don’t you. God so much wants to move on this people planet, but we don’t let Him. We always put our interests, or the churches interests, or the meeting’s interests first. What about God?
